Diego Loyzaga: “She was a hundred percent planned.”
DIEGO LOYZAGA – The actor recently revealed that his daughter was “hundred percent planned”.
The actor appeared in the latest episode of “Toni Talks”, which was uploaded on Toni Gonzaga’s YouTube channel. Diego opened up about fatherhood for the first time and he also narrated how his non-showbiz partner gave birth to their child in Australia a day after he celebrated his birthday last May.
In an interview with Toni Gonzaga, Diego recalled that he and his daughter almost share the same birthday as he celebrated his birthday last May 21 and they welcomed their baby last May 22.
The actor also shared that his non-showbiz partner went into labor at 10:00pm on his birthday and he spent the night of his birthday in the hospital with her at that time. According to him, he’s proud that he’s now a father and he’s also feeling blessed by the arrival of his daughter.
“I was supposed to either post [it on] first Father’s Day or the best birthday gift ever,” Diego said. “Kaso nga lang, inunahan ako ng isang, I don’t know if she’s a tabloid [writer] or whatever here in the Philippines. Anyway, that’s off topic. And you can’t get that back. ’Di ba, it’s annoying. And you don’t get it [the moment] again, di ba? Yeah, it was annoying.”
Diego also said that he was excited and ecstatic to publicly announce the good blessing that came to him, but he was told not to do that.
According to him, he agreed not to announce the arrival of his daughter because his non-showbiz partner gave birth in Australia and he knows they were safe and they have nothing to worry about. But since the matter has gone public, the actor said that there’s nothing he can do but talk about it.
The actor also shared in an interview that he and his non-showbiz partner really planned to start a family and he had been telling his mother, actress Teresa Loyzaga, about his yearning to be a father for years.
“She was planned. She was a hundred percent planned,” he said, referring to his daughter.
In the same interview, the actor admitted that he doesn’t believe in marriage because it’s “a piece of paper” for him. But when he was asked about the surname of his baby, he said that his child will carry his surname because his daughter was born abroad.
