Diego Loyzaga: “I don’t believe in marriage.”
DIEGO LOYZAGA – The actor recently admitted that he doesn’t believe in marriage as it’s “a piece of paper” for him.
The actor appeared in the latest episode of “Toni Talks” where he talked about him becoming a father. At one point, actress-host Toni Gonzaga asked him to confirm if it’s true that he doesn’t believe in marriage.
In response, Diego admitted it’s true that he doesn’t believe in marriage. He also said that it’s “a piece of paper” for him.
But when he was asked to defend what he said, Diego explained that a couple agrees on everything and there’s not a spot or piece of line or paragraph that a couple doesn’t agree on.
“Let’s say for example you and me. We agree on everything. There’s not a spot or piece of line or paragraph that we don’t agree on. Absolutely everything. A hundred percent. Crystal clear,” he said. “Why must we now get it written down on a piece of paper and then get someone else to bestow onto us that we are now a married couple?”
Toni then asked Diego “What about your kids? Your children?” The actor said that he doesn’t think a child would see any difference from a married couple’s household and someone-who’s-living-together’s household.
When asked about the surname of his baby, he said that his child will carry his surname because his daughter was born abroad.
It was last June when Diego posted on his social media account a photo of him carrying his child and he simply captioned his post, “The best birthday gift ever”. Actor Cesar Montano revealed in an interview with Inquirer last June that the name of Diego’s daughter is “Hailey”.
