During the flight, the debit card of Arci Muñoz was stolen
ARCI MUÑOZ – The actress lost P500,000 after her debit card was stolen while she was asleep during a flight from Japan to South Korea on November 6.
“Nag-nap ako, pag-gising ko, wala na ‘yung bag ko doon. Tapos ‘yung lalaki… nakatayo sa cubicle doon sa plane, sa cubicle ko. He was getting my magazine. Pagkakita ko, ‘yung bag ko nasa aisle na. Binitawan niya kasi nakita niya ako,” Munoz shared during the premiere of Netflix’s “Replacing Chef Chico.”
Although she flew in business class and checked her belongings immediately, she didn’t realize a card was missing from her wallet. Trying to avoid conflict, she didn’t confront the person immediately.
Two days later, Arci Muñoz received a notification from her bank stating that her debit card was used in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, and Jakarta, Indonesia. She suspects the man is the culprit. Unfortunately, despite reporting the incident to the bank, Munoz is still appealing the P500,000 debited from her account. Among the items purchased were diamonds and a brand-new iPhone.
Munoz emphasized the importance of awareness, urging people not to be overly complacent. She learned the lesson to remain vigilant, even in initially comfortable places, and advised the public to be cautious at all times. While she coordinated the incident with the airline, Munoz is awaiting their response regarding the case.
