TONI MUÑOZ – The percussionist of the Pinoy group Ben&Ben has been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. This somber news was personally disclosed by Toni on his Instagram account.

According to him, she only recently mustered the courage to openly discuss his health condition. She revealed that she was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy just a few days before their trip to Sydney for Ben&Ben’s 1MX show. She mentioned that the left side of his face is paralyzed, limiting his ability to smile fully, and she also noticed a slight change in his speech.

Toni acknowledged that she is going through a challenging period but expressed gratitude for the love and support she has received. His condition has not hindered him from carrying out his work, playing music, and singing. She shared this update to help people and himself come to terms with this reality.

She concluded, “Kasali talaga sa buhay ang mga sorpresa. Kaya nga ito maganda. Marami pa ring dapat ipagpasalamat.” Many netizens and fans have conveyed “well wishes” for Toni’s recovery.

Meanwhile, Bell’s Palsy causes a temporary loss of control, strength, or paralysis in the facial muscles. This can happen when the nerve that controls these muscles becomes compressed, swollen, or inflamed. Due to this condition, one side of the face becomes stiff or droopy. In rare cases, it can affect both sides of the face.

Bell’s Palsy is typically not permanent, but there are rare instances where it doesn’t resolve. Most people recover within 2 weeks to 6 months after the initial symptoms appear. Furthermore, in most cases of Bell’s Palsy, full facial expression and strength can be regained.
