A Rakuten Viber is a calling and messaging platform that connects people. All group chats and all one-on-one Viber calls and personal chats are protected by a built-in end-to-end encryption.
There comes a time when you receive a message from someone not saved in your contact list. With Rakuten Viber, you have the option to block the sender if you believe that the person contacting you is a spammer.
But how to block someone’s phone number on the platform?
If you’re using a mobile phone and you want to block someone you don’t have a one-on-one chat with, you need to open the app, tap “More”, select “Settings”, choose “Privacy”, and tap “Block list”.
After that, you need to tap on the “+” (Android) or “Add number” (iOS) in the top corner and either select a contact or type in a phone number in the “Search bar”.
Keep in mind that you must use the full international format: (+)(Country Code)(Area Code without the leading 0’s)(Phone Number). In addition, you need to select the phone number after you finish typing it.
Once done, you need to confirm that you want to block the contact or phone number by tapping on the check mark (Android) or tap “Done” (iOS).
If you’re using a mobile phone and you want to block someone you have a one-on-one chat with, you need to open the app and tap on “Chats”.
The next step is to select a chat, tap “Info” (Android) or the name of the chat (iOS) at the top of the screen. After that, you need to select “Chat info” and then choose “Block this person”.
