The former head coach of Gilas Pilipinas generously donated the controversial Thom Browne coat that he wore during the FIBA World Cup. The suit, which became a topic of discussion on social media, is now on exhibit at the FIBA House of Basketball in Switzerland. Miguel Font, the Head Curator of the FIBA Foundation, requested the donation of personal items, and Reyes gladly contributed the notable suit. In an Instagram post, he expressed his honor in seeing his coat displayed in the FIBA Museum.
Additionally, the FIBA House of Basketball showcases various memorabilia, including a Gilas jersey from NBA star Jordan Clarkson and a pair of Nike Air Force 1 shoes signed by Reyes himself. Reyes shared a video of him presenting the coat to former FIBA President Hamane Niang, who recently left his position.
During his tenure as Gilas Pilipinas coach in the World Cup, Reyes led the team to only one victory. He later stepped aside, making way for Tim Cone, who subsequently led the Philippines to its first Asian Games gold medal since 1962.
