During her visit to Mike Enriquez’s wake, Vicky Morales couldn’t hold back her emotions
VICKY MORALES – The GMA reporter was unable to contain her emotions when she visited the wake of her colleague, the late broadcaster Mike Enriquez, at Christ The King Parish in Greenmeadows, Quezon City.
In pictures shared by GMA News on August 31st, Vicky could be seen shedding tears while glancing at Enriquez’s casket. She was also seen conversing with Enriquez’s wife, Lizabeth “Baby” Yumping, to offer her sympathies.
Vicky Morales had a close professional relationship with Mike Enriquez. They were co-anchors on Saksi from 1999 to 2004 and also on 24 Oras from 2014 to 2022. In fact, during the announcement of his passing on August 29th, the journalist also struggled to contain her emotions while delivering the sad news.
Mike Enriquez, a significant figure in Philippine Broadcasting, passed away at the age of 71 after years of health struggles. Although the cause of his death was not disclosed, he had been dealing with kidney problems and diabetes.
He was last seen on television the previous year and took a break to prioritize his well-being. Even though the legendary broadcaster’s voice and presence are no longer here, his legacy as one of the nation’s most trusted journalists will live on.
Miguel Castro “Mike” Enriquez’s career in the entertainment industry began when he became a radio broadcaster in 1969. In 1995, he became a TV anchor for GMA Network, Inc. He also served as the Consultant for radio operations at GMA Network, the president of the network’s regional and radio subsidiary RGMA Network Inc., and the Station Manager of Super Radyo DZBB 594 AM.
