Arjo Atayde: “It’s very much surreal at some point, of course we are new.”
ARJO ATAYDE – The actor-politician said that marrying his wife Maine Mendoza is “very much surreal”.
The incumbent Quezon City congressman recently appeared in an episode of Kapamilya morning show “Magandang Buhay” where he spoke about his married life.
Arjo is still in a state of bliss after getting married with the actress-host over a month ago.
In an interview on “Magandang Buhay”, the actor-politician said that he’s “trying to find the right words” to express how happy he is to be right by Maine’s side. He also said that marrying his wife still feels “surreal”.
“It’s very much surreal at some point, of course we are new. They say, mag-iiba ‘yan,” he said. “I mean that’s the comment of older people. They will always say ‘it would be different’ but to me it doesn’t [seem] like it could… I don’t know, I’m just happy. I really can’t explain, I am trying to find the right words to say but I’m very happy.”
Arjo’s mother Sylvia Sanchez, who also appeared in an episode on “Magandang Buhay”, admitted that she couldn’t help but feel sad because her son doesn’t live with them anymore.
The seasoned actress also said that she can’t help but feel sentimental but she’s trying to get over it because she knows her son is in a good place. She went on to share that her Spanish-Filipino businessman husband Art Atayde reminded her that there’s nothing wrong in “letting their children” go.
It was last July 28, 2023 when Maine and Arjo got married in a lavish but strictly private wedding in Baguio City. The celebrity couple even shared a photo of the two of them on their respective social media accounts last August 28, 2023 to mark their 1st wedding monthsary.
