MACKENYU – The actor portraying the character Roronoa Zoro in the live adaptation of the popular Japanese manga, One Piece, has captured the hearts of netizens.
“One Piece” is a fantasy and adventure TV series streaming on Netflix. It is adapted from the popular Japanese manga by Eiichiro Oda. The show follows the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Monkey D. Luffy, as they search for the legendary treasure, the “One Piece.”
The main cast includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. The series features a diverse ensemble of characters, each with their own unique abilities and goals.
One of the characters in the One Piece live adaptation who has captured the hearts of netizens is Roronoa Zoro, also known as “Pirate Hunter” Zoro, the first crew member to join the Straw Hat Pirates. His role is being played by Mackenyu Arata, popularly known as Mackenyu.

Aside from One Piece, Mackenyu has also starred in several manga adaptations, including JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable Chapter I (2017), Tokyo Ghoul S (2019), and as the antagonist Yukishiro Enishi in Rurouni Kenshin: The Final (2021). He also portrayed Pegasus Seiya in Knights of the Zodiac.
However, the 26-year-old actor is already married. But for the time being, many are enjoying his appearance in the live adaptation of One Piece. In fact, he’s currently making waves online, particularly on the microblogging site Twitter, now known as X.
Meanwhile, many fans are excited about the upcoming episodes of One Piece. As of press time, only 8 episodes have been released by Netflix, leaving the fans eager for more.
