Some social media users have observed a noticeable resemblance between Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo and Japanese star Mackenyu.

Mackenyu is presently playing the role of Roronoa Zoro in the live adaptation of “One Piece,” a Japanese manga created by Eiichiro Oda.

KATHRYN BERNARDO X MACKENYU – Some netizens have noticed an apparent resemblance between the Kapamilya actress and the Japanese actor who plays the role of Roronoa Zoro in the live adaptation of One Piece.

“One Piece” is a fantasy and adventure television series available for streaming on Netflix. It is based on the hit Japanese manga created by Eiichiro Oda. The series revolves around the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Monkey D. Luffy, as they embark on a quest to find the legendary treasure known as the “One Piece.”

The primary cast of the show includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. The series boasts a diverse array of characters, each possessing their own unique abilities and aspirations.

One of the standout characters in the live adaptation of One Piece, who has captured the affection of netizens, is Roronoa Zoro, also referred to as “Pirate Hunter” Zoro. He is the first member to join the Straw Hat Pirates and is portrayed by the renowned actor Mackenyu Arata, known simply as Mackenyu

Apparently, some netizens have noticed a striking resemblance between actress Kathryn Bernardo and Mackenyu. Some have even jokingly referred to them as “Mackenyu Bernardo.” Several Facebook pages have been sharing side-by-side photos of them, particularly in Kathryn Bernardo’s portrayal of a boy-like character in the now-defunct series, La Luna Sangre.

Meanwhile, aside from One Piece, Mackenyu has also starred in several manga adaptations, including JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable Chapter I (2017), Tokyo Ghoul S (2019), and as the antagonist Yukishiro Enishi in Rurouni Kenshin: The Final (2021). He also portrayed Pegasus Seiya in Knights of the Zodiac.
