Maricel Soriano: “Bakit kaya ako tinawag na mataray e sinabi ko lang naman yung totoo”
MARICEL SORIANO – Here’s what the Diamond Star said when she was asked about her reaction on being tagged as “Taray Queen”.
The veteran actress is on a roll in her showbiz career despite being in the entertainment industry for 5 decades already. She even appeared in the recent teaser of the ongoing ABS-CBN-TV5 series “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” as the new cast member.
It was last week when she introduced as “Amanda” – the grandmother of the Paraiso sisters – and her character is expected to change the course of the story as she’s poised to unravel the truth from the past.
During the media conference last Wednesday, the veteran actress said in an interview with the entertainment press that she’s unaware where it started but she attributed the “Taray Queen” title to her “straightforward” attitude during interviews in the past.
“Nung araw kasi diretso ako kausap. Kung ano tanong, yun ang sagot. Kaya sabi nila, ‘ay mataray itong babaeng ito’,” Maricel said. “Bakit kaya ako tinawag na mataray e sinabi ko lang naman yung totoo.”
The Diamond Star also admitted that she really prayed for more projects after slowing down in the past years. But she also said that it took her some time to finally find the motivation to return to acting at full speed, adding that it was difficult for her to say no especially when it’s a good project.
Meanwhile, the veteran actress recently signed a contract with NET25 for the new 3-in-1 program together with Eric Quizon and Epi Quizon. In an interview with Net25, she thanked NET25 for the opportunity to work with Epi and Eric again.
