Lady Netizen Flexes ‘Hotdog Maki’: “Grabe na talaga inflation”

Lady Netizen Shares Her Own Version of Japanese Delicacy ‘Hotdog Maki’

A lady netizen goes viral and elicits various reactions online after flexing a photo of her ‘Hotdog Maki’.

Maki, a staple of Japanese cuisine, is a versatile dish made primarily of vinegared rice and various ingredients, all rolled into a cylindrical shape using a sheet of nori (seaweed). The word “maki” itself translates to “roll” in Japanese, which perfectly describes the essence of this culinary delight.

Chefs take great pride in crafting visually stunning rolls that are almost too beautiful to eat. Maki is often served with pickled ginger, soy sauce for dipping, and wasabi for added spice.

Venisse Gonzales, a Facebook user, recently shared a photo of her own version classic Japanese dish. Her playful yet inventive twist immediately spread like wildfire on social media and garnered comments from internet users.

In the photo, the unconventional hotdog maki takes center stage. The quirky culinary experiment was born out of necessity, as Gonzales and her cook found their refrigerator lacking traditional maki fillings.

However, they did have an abundance of hotdogs in their kitchen and decided to use it for the dish.

“It was my idea. Me and my cook were about to have our lunch. We’re a fan of Japanese food and [we] always like to experiment [in] making dishes but there’s nothing much in the fridge that time. So we saw the hotdog as filling for maki,” Venisse said.
