Alex Gonzaga: “Looking at our old pictures and reminiscing the time na wala pa social media.”
ALEX GONZAGA – The actress and content creator recently looked back on her and her sister Toni Gonzaga’s early showbiz dreams.
The actress-vlogger posted a series of photos with her actress-host sister on her Instagram account and also reflected on their pursuit of a career in the showbiz industry.
Alex Gonzaga made her acting debut in the ABS-CBN comedy program “Let’s Go!” back in 2006. Toni Gonzaga, on the other hand, starred in a 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “My Teacher”.
In her social media post, the content creator seemed to be in sentimental mood as she shared a “selfie” with her “ate”. The selfie holds a memory of their dream to make it in the showbiz industry.
“Looking at our old pictures and reminiscing the time na wala pa social media,” she said. “These are your simple taytay girls using their dad’s film camera for selfie thinking they can have a shot in showbusiness.”
She went on to express her love for Toni and also express pride in their journey of fulfilling their dream. According to her, one can always glow up and live his/her dream regardless of how he/she started.
Her sister Toni Gonzaga, who had just given birth to her 2nd child almost a month ago, commented “Nag post partum ka din…” in Alex’s post on Instagram.
In response to her sister’s comment, Alex Gonzaga told Toni Gonzaga that the lesson they learned is that their father made the right decision to have her audition first “hangga’t ‘di pa tumutubo kilay ko”.
Alex also uploaded a TikTok video where she talked about the throwback photo that she posted on Instagram. According to her, she was around 14 or 15, and her sister, 18 or 19, when they took a photo in their apartment in Taytay, Rizal.
She also shared that her braces, at the time, haven’t been checked by the dentist for almost three months, while her older sister had pimples on her face back then.
“Pero talagang naipush namin [ang pangarap namin]. Ibig sabihin niyan, kayang-kaya niyo rin i-push, basta may tiwala kayo sa sarili n’yo,” the actress-vlogger said in her TikTok video.
