Official Statement of Potato Corner over viral qualifications
POTATO CORNER – The global food franchise known for its flavored French fries, has issued an official statement after facing backlash due to the viral qualifications for service crew members at one of its branches.
One of the Potato Corner branches, specifically at Ventura Mall, has been garnering significant attention online due to its service crew qualifications. Some individuals have criticized the establishment for having qualifications reminiscent of “beauty queen” requirements.
Among the qualifications are the following: aged 18 to 30, possessing at least a high school diploma, adept at basic mathematical computations, preferably female, demonstrating a positive visual presence and a pleasing personality, maintaining a proportional weight-to-height ratio, having clear skin, good eyesight, and a well-maintained set of teeth, being proficient in both Filipino and English communication, and genuinely enjoying interactions with various types of people.
Due to the branch’s qualifications, which some netizens find “discriminatory,” Potato Corner has faced a significant amount of backlash. This has prompted the food franchise to issue a statement.
According to them, “discriminatory hiring” is not something that they support or condone. Thus, they are all about “providing equal opportunities for all, and giving fair recognition and reward to effort, attitude, potential, and creating positive outcomes.”

According to him, the majority of individuals complaining about the qualifications hold themselves in high regard but do not meet them. He further noted that standards are on the rise nowadays, particularly in the food industry where requirements are quite meticulous.
