Kris Aquino: “You’d tease me that my perfect match would be a male Cory for a lifetime partner because you said I was the female Ninoy”
KRIS AQUINO – The Queen of All Media recently recalled the fond memory of her mother, former President Cory Aquino, on her 14th death anniversary.
It can be recalled that former President Cory Aquino succumbed to a battle against cancer on August 1, 2009. Kris Aquino’s father, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., was assassinated on August 21, 1983.
In a message posted on Kris Aquino World’s Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, the former actress-host recalled how the numbers 2 and 1 were coincidentally present at her parents’ time of death and the date.
Kris also said that in her heart, she’s sure her mom is happy in heaven now reunited with the only man she ever loved. She added that because of what she saw in her, she can still believe that true, committed, and enduring is real.
According to her, Ninoy was her mom’s first, last, and only love. She went on to recall the fond memory of her mother, saying that her mom would tease her that her “perfect match” would be a “male Cory” for a lifetime partner.
Kris said her mom told her that she was the “female Ninoy” and only a “male Cory” would understand the passionate “tigas ulo/bawal sumuko/kakayanin lahat” in her. However, she told her mom, “malabo na sigurong mangyari pa yun”.
The former actress-host also said that her mom didn’t fully experience the “male Kris” in Bimby, adding that for sure her mom would be the proudest with how Bimby is turning out: articulate, truthful, protective, driven, caring, responsible, and having excellent grades.
“Nanghihinayang lang ako na hindi mo naabutan yung development ni kuya Josh & how slim, respectful, generous in sharing, effortlessly kindhearted, polite, gentle & appreciative he’s grown up to be…” Kris said.
She also said that she doesn’t doubt her mom is proud of all she achieved, but she hopes from heaven that her mom is seeing “pinipilit & pinagsisikapan kong maging ‘good mom’” because she had the best role model in her mom.
Kris went on to tell her mom that August has always been tough for them, but she instilled dignity and strength in all her children. She also said that hopefully her mom no longer worry about them.
