LEFT BEHIND? – A restaurant owner from Bacolod has taken to social media, seeking help for a Tunisian man who has become homeless after being abandoned by a major shipping line company.
On Facebook, a certain Mimi Duaquino Torres Dingcong shared her encounter with the foreigner. According to her, the Tunisian man was left behind in Bacolod by a prominent shipping line company where he used to work. The owner of the said company is an Arab man. The Tunisian man said that he thought the owner of Arabesques Middle Eastern Restaurant Bacolod – East View Hotel is an Arabian national, which is why he sought help.
Mimi discovered that the man had been staying in an apartment a few months ago. However, due to a lack of funds, he decided to sell his laptop, phone, rice cooker, and many other belongings. Additionally, his visa expired. The Tunisian guy sought help from the local government of Bacolod previously and managed to make contact with the United Nations.
He initially stayed at a chapel in Bacolod, and when it underwent renovations, he moved to the chapel in Murcia. He aspires to purchase a plane ticket to go directly to the United Nations. The restaurant owner provided the Tunisian man with an allowance and food to assist him at the moment. She also pledged to buy him a ticket to Manila.
The Tunisian man is identified as Mark Lwinsecky Kocken, 57 years old. Mimi revealed that he had undergone heart surgery.
Meanwhile, the Facebook post of Mimi Duaquino Torres Dingcong elicited mixed reactions from netizens. Some expressed their interest in helping the man, while others cautioned that it could potentially be a scam. Several netizens mentioned Raffy Tulfo in Action, hoping that the public service program of the senator could provide assistance to him.
