Popular impersonator Willie Nepomuceno has passed away

WILLIE NEPOMUCENO – The popular impersonator, comedian, and satirist, passed away at the age of 75.

He was widely recognized for his exceptional impersonations of political personalities, particularly Philippine presidents such as Ferdinand Marcos, Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph Estrada, Benigno Aquino III, and Rodrigo Duterte.

His family made the announcement of his passing through a heartfelt post on Facebook. “To our family, loved ones, and friends, It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, WILLIE NEPOMUCENO on July 26, 2023, at the age of 75. He has peacefully joined our creator. We ask for your continued prayers. Thank you very much,” his family expressed.

Born on July 8, 1948, to Leonardo (1923–2007) and Paquita Nepomuceno, he also brilliantly impersonated other popular figures such as Jaime Cardinal Sin and former Manila mayor Alfredo Lim, as well as beloved celebrities like Fernando Poe, Jr., and Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon.

Willie Nepomuceno was a prominent figure on the sketch comedy show “Ispup,” which aired on the now-defunct ABC-5 network. Throughout his career, he also achieved the milestone of producing and releasing six albums.

Further details about the wake will be provided soon. The cause of Willie Nepomuceno’s death has not been disclosed by his loved ones. Among those deeply saddened by the loss of the renowned impersonator is actor-turned-politician Herbert Bautista.

Prior to his passing, a certain Edgar Israel Taccad asked for prayers for Willie’s recovery after he was recently rushed to the hospital due to a “bad fall.”
