Personal chef of Obama found dead in a pond
TAFARI CAMPBELL – The personal chef of former US President Barack Obama has passed away following an accident during a paddleboarding trip near the Obamas’ residence in Massachusetts.
Campbell, aged 45, had initially worked as a sous chef at the White House during Obama’s presidency and had left along with the first family when their term ended in 2016, continuing to work for them thereafter.
The personal chef of the Obamas went missing while paddleboarding on Edgartown Great Pond at Martha’s Vineyard on Sunday. A search operation was promptly launched, but unfortunately, his body was discovered on Monday, approximately 100 feet (30 meters) from shore at a depth of eight feet. The police report indicated that he had appeared to struggle to stay on the water’s surface before submerging and not resurfacing.
The Obamas expressed their profound grief over the loss, praising Campbell’s culinary talent and his role as a beloved part of their family. They remembered him as a warm, fun, and exceptionally kind person who brightened their lives.
When the Obamas left Washington, they asked Campbell to join them in their post-presidential life, and he willingly agreed, becoming an integral part of their lives ever since. Campbell had been visiting the Massachusetts island from his home in Virginia at the time of the incident, and the Obamas were not present when the accident occurred.
Meanwhile, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Campbell’s death, but initial reports suggest that it was an accident.
