Kai Sotto: “It’s a good first game, just to go out there and compete.”

KAI SOTTO – The Filipino basketball player has finally made his debut in the 2023 NBA Summer League.

It can be recalled that he wasn’t able to play for the Orlando Magic in their campaign in the 2023 NBA Summer League as he’s a “DNP (Did Not Play – Coach’s Decision)” in the team’s 2 losses against Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers.

Kai finished with 6 points, 1 assist, 4 rebounds, and 3 blocks in his first game after being benched in their 3 previous losses to Indiana, New York, and Detroit.

Suiting up for the Magic in their 88-71 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in Las Vegas on Friday, Kai said that his team didn’t win but they learned a lot from the game.

It’s a good first game, just to go out there and compete. We didn’t win but we learned a lot from this game. I think we did pretty good defensively. We just got to bounce back,” Kai said. “It’s nice to finally go out there and play.
