Joey de Leon: “Ang taas ng ibinigay nyong pagpansin sa amin…lagpas helicopter!”
JOEY DE LEON – The veteran TV host-comedian sparked speculation of taking a jab at fellow TV host-comedian Vice Ganda through an Instagram post.
Recently, Joey shared a photo of himself, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and the legit Dabarkads inside an elevator. The picture was taken on the first day of their new noontime show, E.A.T, on TV5, which premiered on July 1.
In the caption, Joey mentioned that their studio at TV5 in Mandaluyong City wasn’t spacious, but he expressed gratitude for the overwhelming welcome they received from viewers. In a humorous manner, he exaggerated the attention they received, comparing it to “1,000 floors” and even surpassing a helicopter.
“Ganito kaliit lang ang studio namin sa TV5, parang elevator pero 1,000 floors naman ang taas ng ibinigay nyong pagpansin sa amin…lagpas helicopter!” he noted as the caption on his post.
Netizens quickly picked up on Joey’s mention of a helicopter, as Vice Ganda had made a grand entrance via a chopper during the premiere of It’s Showtime on GTV.
Meanwhile, the clash of the three noontime shows on July 1 garnered attention, with E.A.T. on TV5, Eat Bulaga! on GMA-7, and It’s Showtime on GTV competing for viewership. It’s Showtime delivered a grand and extravagant opening number, aligning with Vice Ganda’s promise for a spectacular start in their new venue. On the other hand, Eat Bulaga! maintained a calm and composed approach in their show. On the other hand, TVJ returned to the noontime block with an emotionally charged opening number.
