Cristy Fermin Defends Kathryn Bernardo Over Vaping Issue

Cristy Fermin on Kathryn Bernardo: “Hindi po siya nagsisigarilyo”

CRISTY FERMIN – The entertainment columnist defended Kathryn Bernardo over her vaping issue.

In her showbiz column “Cristy Ferminute,” Fermin stated that she has been following Kathryn since she was a child actress, and she firmly believes that Kathryn won’t take up smoking. “Never po, never. Hindi po siya nagsisigarilyo,” Fermin said.

According to her, Kathryn enjoys drinking alcohol on occasions, and there were times when the Kapamilya star got so drunk that she forgot where her bag was. “Yung ano lang, painom-inom kapag merong okasyon. Umiinom naman siya. Pero never ko siya nakita o ninuman na nagyoyosi,” Cristy revealed.

Regarding a viral video on social media showing Kathryn vaping, Fermin clarified that it was for a role and not something she does in real life. “Role po niya ‘yon na nagbi-vape siya. Ganon, gumagamit siya ng vape dahil sa role niya. Hindi po siya nagyoyosi. Never!” Cristy emphasized.

To recall, the 27-year-old actress made headlines after being captured using a vape. The video seems to have been secretly recorded and shared on TikTok, supposedly taken during a break while shooting her new movie, ‘A Very Good Girl.’ In the footage, Kathryn is seen vaping while sitting on a bench, accompanied by her personal assistant.

As expected, the video elicited significant reactions from netizens. Some of her fans expressed disappointment, viewing Kathryn as a “role model.” Conversely, some internet users supported her and argued that vaping poses no harm. They emphasized that as an adult, Kathryn has the right to make her own decisions as long as they do not negatively affect others.

Furthermore, there were speculations that Kathryn’s vaping might be related to her character in the upcoming movie, where she stars alongside international actress Dolly De Leon.
