Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance and leadership campaign
BAGONG PILIPINAS – The current administration will adopt the said brand of governance and leadership campaign designed by the Presidential Communications Office.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the implementation of the new brand of governance and leadership campaign for the current administration. In a three-page memorandum circular dated July 3, 2023, and signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, the President directed all national government agencies (NGAs) and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs), to use the “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign in their programs, activities, and projects.
In line with the President’s directive, the implementation of the “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign calls for deeper and significant changes in all sectors of society and government. It also aims to realize comprehensive reforms and the complete recovery of the economy.
The “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign will serve as the primary theme of the current administration. The government did not spend any money on the creation of the logo.
On July 16, the Presidential Communications Office explained the meaning behind the Bagong Pilipinas logo. According to the agency, the logo represents different stages of development in the Philippines. The three red stripes symbolize significant changes in our history: post-war agricultural and rural development, the post-colonial period, and the current metropolitan development.
The two blue stripes represent the goal for the future—an advancing Philippines that utilizes technological advancements for long-term industrial development. The rising sun symbolizes the beginning of the new Philippines and the aim to be at the center of the global market and community of nations worldwide. The weave pattern signifies the unity and solidarity of Filipinos, especially since the goal of the Bagong Pilipinas can only be achieved through collective action, cooperation, and a shared aspiration for progress.
