Ricci Rivero: “’Yung breakup first week ng May talaga.”
RICCI RIVERO – The athlete-actor recently spoke about his breakup with his former partner, actress Andrea Brillantes.
He first confirmed his separation with Andrea in early June. According to the athlete-actor, it was a “mistake” to keep the breakup private despite their relationship being public.
Ricci appeared on Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where he opened up about his breakup with Andrea. According to the athlete-actor, he felt the need to share his side of the story because his family is being affected by all the issues surrounding him.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, he said that there were several factors that led to them breaking up. He added that he and the actress agreed to take a break from their relationship in April, before they broke up in the first week of May.
“We took a break from each other, something like that, tapos ‘yung breakup first week ng May talaga,” the athlete-actor said.

Ricci went on to clarify that the woman seen at his place in viral photos on social media was a companion of his friend and not his.
The athlete-actor also said that it was Andrea who wanted to keep the breakup to themselves.
When asked to address criticism that he was merely using the actress for fame, he said that ABS-CBN has many offers and he turned them all down since they became friends because he doesn’t want to connect work to his personal relationship.
“Sa’kin sobrang genuine ng lahat, wala sa isip ko ‘yung mga ganyang bagay kasi minsan lang akong mag-girlfriend, bakit sa ganyang paraan ko pa naman gagawin, ‘diba,” Ricci said.
