Lee O’Brian faces deportation complaint and Visa cancellation filed by Pokwang
POKWANG – The Kapuso comedienne has taken legal action against her former partner, Lee O’Brian, by filing a deportation complaint and visa cancellation on June 13, 2023.
Pokwang, whose real name is Marietta Tan Subong, lodged her complaint with the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros, Manila, with the support of her lawyer, Atty. Ralph Calinisan. The complaint seeks the cancellation of Lee O’Brian’s visa and his deportation under Sections 23 and 37 (A)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.
Pokwang shared a copy of her complaint on Instagram, emphasizing her fight for her rights, her child’s rights, and the rights of women and her country. The actress and Lee have been separated for nearly two years, but their breakup only became public in July 2022. Pokwang revealed in February 2022 that Lee was involved with another woman, and since then, she has expressed her dissatisfaction with their separation and Lee’s lack of financial support for their 5-year-old child, Malia O’Brian.
In March 2023, Pokwang announced her intention to change Malia’s last name from “O’Brian” to “Subong” to match her own surname.
Pokwang has been making several remarks targeting Lee. She even dubbed him as a “user”. She has also directed her attention towards Lee’s parents, accusing them of claiming to love their granddaughter but failing to provide even basic necessities for her. Pokwang’s actions and statements demonstrate her resolve to protect her rights and the well-being of her child, fueling speculation about the legal battle ahead.
