Kyline Alcantara defends Mavy Legaspi

KYLINE ALCANTARA – The actress has come to the defense of her rumored boyfriend, Mavy Legaspi, and the other new hosts of GMA-7’s show, Eat Bulaga!, who have been facing harsh criticism.

The new hosts, including Mavy, Cassy Legaspi, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, and Alexa Miro, have been compared unfavorably to the original hosts of the show, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ).

Kyline, who was a guest co-host on Eat Bulaga! before the issue arose, emphasized that the new hosts are simply doing their job and they acknowledge that they cannot replace the original hosts. She expressed her admiration for the original hosts and the significant role they have played in the lives of Filipinos, stating that she is a fan of the show.

Kyline also voiced her support for Mavy, highlighting his genuine intentions to improve his hosting skills. She expressed pride in Mavy and his respect for the original hosts. When asked for advice on dealing with the intense criticism, Kyline encouraged Mavy to stay focused on his intentions, be respectful, and recognize that the original hosts are irreplaceable icons.

In a separate interview, Mavy revealed that he and his twin sister, Cassy, are supported by their parents, Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi, in their hosting stint on Eat Bulaga!

Kyline’s comments were made during a press conference for their upcoming series, LUV IS: Love at First Read, which is based on a Wattpad story. When questioned about their relationship status, Kyline referred to it as a “special friendship” and emphasized the importance of taking things slowly and not succumbing to external pressures.
