Kapuso host Drew Arellano also said that he and Iya Villania didn’t plan to have four children.
DREW ARELLANO – The Kapuso host said that he and his wife Iya Villania were “really praying” to have a baby girl.
Iya Villania and Drew Arellano got married in 2014 and have four children: Primo, Leon, Alana, and Astro.
The Kapuso host is the guest in the latest episode of “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel” podcast where he spoke about his family.
In an interview with Pia Arcangel, Drew said that he and Iya didn’t plan to have four children, but they were “really praying” to have a daughter. He added that if their second child had been a girl, “that would have been it”.
The Kapuso host also said that he and his wife are very vocal about family planning, but their kids Alana and Astro came to their lives unexpectedly during the pandemic.
“Primo and Leon, okay na, but well, naging lalaki so parang let’s try another one,” Drew said. “We just like didn’t say na parang no, we don’t want the 4th one, so parang kusang nangyari na lang din. Duday and Astro happened during the pandemic, so what a blessing.”

Drew also said that he and his wife waited and prayed for a baby girl, so his wife giving birth to their daughter Alana during the pandemic was an answered prayer for the two of them.
He added that having a daughter hits differently for him as a dad.
To recall, Iya Villania posted a throwback photo with baby Primo on her social media account and said that she realized “mothering is hard” when she and her husband were only a family of 3.
“I knew I wanted to have a lot of kids but after having Primo I was settling with the idea of just having 2 here,” the TV host and mom-of-four said in the caption of her post. “I’m so glad it was just a phase.”
