As part of the investigation, the PNP is in contact with Bunduquin’s family and colleagues to gather relevant information. While Bunduquin’s work as a media representative involves discussing critical issues, Maranan stated that they cannot conclusively determine if the motive behind the shooting is work-related at this time. All possible angles are being explored.

Maranan, who also serves as a chief focal person for the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS), assured the media industry that the PNP prioritizes the security of those working in the field. The PNP Media Vanguards will oversee the investigation process to ensure a thorough examination of the incident.
