Nelson Canlas on his non-showbiz husband: “He’s a restaurateur”
NELSON CANLAS – The entertainment journalist and podcast host recently spoke about his non-showbiz husband Miggy.
Nelson is known as one of the most prominent entertainment journalists interviewing famous showbiz personalities in the country. He even hosted the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast.
He appeared in a recent episode of “Just In” hosted by actor Paolo Contis where he opened up about his non-showbiz partner.
Nelson said in an interview with Paolo Contis that he has always been proud of his partner.
According to him, his husband is a “restauranteur” and his family owns Palm Grill in Tomas Morato – the only Minadanaoan restaurant in Luzon. He also said that his partner worked his way up to establish the restaurant to what it is today.

Aside from this, the podcast host also shared that he’s most proud of his outlook in life and his positive attitude.
“I’ve always said na si [Aubrey Carampel] ‘yung best friend ko talaga sa buhay ko. Kapag nakita mo nga ‘yung passport ko, siya yung nasa ‘in case of emergency’,” he said. “Noong naging kami ni Miggy, dalawa na ‘yung best friend ko talaga.“
Nelson revealed that he has been with Miggy for 9 years, but they have already been married for 5 years. The two got married in Wisconsin, USA.
Despite having different careers, Miggy and Nelson have established a routine that works for both of them.
“Hindi na kami nagdadalawang isip na ‘pag tapos siya sa work, ‘pag tapos na ako sa work, ang me time namin magkasama kami for the last nine years,” Nelson said in an interview.
