Nancy Binay on President Bongbong Marcos: “Baka dapat mas nagagalit”

Sen. Nancy Binay wants President Bongbong Marcos to become more assertive

NANCY BINAY – The senator suggested on Thursday that it might be time for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to become more assertive as he approaches the end of his first year in office.

While she is content with the President’s performance, Binay expressed her desire to see more from Marcos, who she feels does not show enough anger. Binay commented that Marcos is perceived to be kind and gentle, which may be why he is not seen getting angry as often. However, as he moves toward his second year in office, Binay believes that the President may need to display more assertiveness.

Binay also compared Marcos to a former president who she described as being constantly angry. Although she did not name the former leader, Binay stated that Marcos may benefit from having a “fear factor” to increase his influence.

Additionally, Binay hopes that the President can complete his appointments in the Cabinet, particularly in the health sector, given the current COVID-19 situation in the country. She stressed the need for someone to lead the agency and urged the President to fill the vacancies before his second year in office begins.

Binay is not the first senator to encourage Marcos to assert himself. Even his own sister, Senator Imee Marcos, has called on him to take a stronger stance against corrupt government officials. Imee Marcos said last year that she hopes her brother will become more aggressive in cracking down on criminals and drug dealers.
