Michelle Dee: “I can honestly say that this year has been the most difficult so far.”
MICHELLE DEE – After getting crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023, the actress and beauty queen recently looked back at her “most difficult” year.
To recall, Michelle joined the Miss Universe Philippines last year and finished just behind Miss Universe Philippines 2022 titleholder Celeste Cortesi. The beauty queen then continued pursuing the dream this 2023 as she announced her participation in the beauty pageant last February with the hashtag #DeePaTapos.
After getting crowned Miss Universe Philippines this year, Michelle recently posted a video on her social media account as she looked back at her “most difficult” year.
The beauty queen said in the caption of her post that this year has been the “most difficult” year for her so far.
According to her, she took on the responsibility of taking care of two households because of her parents’ accidents and became the primary caregiver of her two autistic siblings while she’s having the drive to still work on herself and her dreams.
“Throughout life, we will always go through something that will beat us down and test our perseverance,” Michelle wrote. “I can honestly say that this year has been the most difficult so far.”
The “Mga Lihim ni Urduja” star also shared that she finished a TV show while she’s trying to win the crown — and that “ultimately took its toll on my body”.
Michelle also shared that she underwent emergency surgery a few weeks ago for “uncontrollable bleeding”.
“But, here I am, with the knowledge that I am much stronger than any reason life will give me to give up,” she said. “That’s not in my nature & it’s definitely not in the nature of us Filipinos too.“
