Jock Zonfrillo, host judge at MasterChef Australia passes away
JOCK ZONFRILLO – The host and judge of “MasterChef” Australia, passed away on the morning of April 30th at the age of 46.
The sad news was confirmed by the Zonfrillo family through the Scottish-Australian chef and TV personality’s Instagram account. Authorities reportedly found the celebrity chef’s lifeless body, but the exact cause of death has yet to be disclosed.
In an official statement from the Zonfrillo family, they expressed their devastation, saying that they are “completely shattered” and do not know how to move on without him. They also implored the public to give them space to grieve in private.
The Network 10 and Endemol Shine Australia, the producer of “MasterChef Australia,” also released a statement expressing their condolences and praising Jock’s charisma, humor, generosity, passion for food, and love for his family.
Jock’s dear friend, Scottish-born Australian rock star Jimmy Barnes, also expressed his condolences, saying that Jock was like a brother to him, and his heart goes out to his family.
Meanwhile, famous “MasterChef” host and judge Gordon Ramsay shared a message for Jock on Twitter, saying that he was saddened by the news and sending all his love to Lauren and the family in this difficult time.
Jock Zonfrillo was a Scottish-born Australian chef, restaurateur, and TV personality. He was the owner and head chef of the acclaimed Restaurant Orana in Adelaide, which served contemporary Australian cuisine. He was also the host and judge of “MasterChef” Australia since 2020.
