A lady netizen goes viral and touched the hearts of the netizens after sharing a tearjerking story about the sacrifice of her parents.
Earlier in the day, Alwen Joy Rufino was at their friend’s house when she received a phone call from her mom. Alwen’s mother asked her to bring their dad some rice and viand at the beach, even if it was just vegetables because her dad hadn’t eaten yet.
Upon checking her money, Rufino realized they only had P150 left for the next day, but she went ahead and bought food at the carinderia.
The lady netizen purchased three servings of rice for P30, vegetables for P30, and even had enough money to buy afritada for P30 and water for 20 pesos. She protagonist didn’t mind if there was any money left in their allowance or not, as long as they could help their dad.
The latter rushed to the beach and waited for her dad to finish working on their boat. When she arrived, she gave her dad the food she bought. He was surprised and asked if she still had any money left.
The young woman just answered yes, even though she didn’t have any left. The father quickly finished the two servings of rice and vegetables due to hunger.
He endured the hunger because his wife had given him P50 since she had no more money left. While he was eating, the female student sat beside him, watching the sea.
Rufino’s dad then asked how much the graduation fee was. She told him it was quite expensive. The hardworking dad said he would find a way to pay for it.
The woman shares this experience to remind everyone that many people complain about the allowance their parents give them, even if it’s just a small amount, and tend to grumble and get angry with them.
But we should not forget the sacrifices our parents make just to improve our situation. It’s okay to endure as long as we have something to eat and buy. She believes that a time will come when they can also help their parents.
