KARA DAVID – The veteran broadcast journalist recently shared that she fell in “love at first hear” with her husband LM Cancio.
Kara is the guest in the anniversary episode of “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast where she shared how she and LM met at a benefit concert.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas, Kara said that she went to the benefit concert. She admitted that she doesn’t like to attend concerts and she’s not used to listening to music, adding that she went there just “for the food”.
She also shared that she fell in “love at first hear” with LM when she heard him saying “Good evening, everyone” at that time.
“Habang kumakain ako, totoo talaga ‘to ah, biglang umakyat sa stage si LM,” she said, “Tapos nagsabi lang, ‘Good evening, everyone.’ Hay! Nung narinig ko yung ‘Good evening, everyone’ sabi ko, ang guwapo ng boses. As in naniniwala na ako ngayon na hindi lang love at first sight, love at first hear [din].”
According to her, she had the opportunity to take a photo with him at that time. She also said that he gave her CDs of the song before he admitted that he had a crush on Kara when he was still young.
The veteran broadcast journalist then revealed that she made the first move by finding LM’s social media account and sent him a message.
Kara mentioned that she and her husband have been married for five years. She even shared a lesson she learned from seasoned news anchor and reporter Mel Tiangco about love and self.
“Hindi ko makakalimutan yung sinabi ni Tita Mel na parang ‘ayusin mo muna ‘yung sarili mo, you complete yourself first, kasi pag maganda na ‘yung sarili mo at kumpleto na ‘yung sarili mo, ma-a-attract mo ‘yung tamang tao’,” Kara said.
In the same interview, the veteran broadcast journalist said that being in a long-distance relationship (LDR) with her husband actually works for them because it always felt new to the two of them.
