Joshua Garcia: “Sobrang flattering na parang gusto ko na lang maglaho na parang bula”
JOSHUA GARCIA – The “Unbreak My Heart” star recently shared his reaction when he was getting called the “next John Lloyd Cruz”.
The actor is one of the stars in the upcoming Kapuso series “Unbreak My Heart”. Also starred in the Kapuso series are Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, and Gabbi Garcia, to name a few.
Joshua appeared on Thursday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where he opened up about his career in showbiz.
The actor has been called the “next John Lloyd Cruz” when he’s still a rising star in the showbiz industry in the Philippines.
Joshua was asked in an interview with the King of Talk whether he still gets that up to the present. According to the actor, he’s no longer hearing it that much after the pandemic.
“I’m honored na matawag na John Lloyd Cruz, nakatulong din siya sa ‘kin sa karera ko na tinatawag nila kong ganun,” the actor said. “Pero s’yempre gusto ko ring i-prove na may sarili ako.”

The actor was also asked whether it flattered or bothered him to be compared to John Lloyd. According to him, he’s flattered “na parang gusto ko na lang maglaho na parang bula”.
In the same interview, Joshua was asked if he reached out to Khalil Ramos and informing him about working with actress Gabbi Garcia.
Although the actor admitted that he wasn’t able to reach out to Khalil, Joshua revealed that he’s sending them gifts last Christmas. He added that he would always ask the actress about her partner’s reaction to their scenes together.
“Palagi ko tinatanong si Gabbi, ‘kumusta kay Khalil itong eksena? OK ba sa kanya?’ ‘Oo ok lang yan’,” Joshua said. “Hindi kasi sila nagpapakailamanang dalwa. Kung ano yung work nito, work lang. At saka professionally naman namin ginawa yung mga ginawa namin dun.“
