Super Mario Movie Ticket Sales Hits Millions in First 5 Days
SUPER MARIO MOVIE – The film reached massive ticket sales in its first five days and is eyey to easily be the “#1 flick of 2023”.
When it comes to video games, one of the most popular is Super Mario. Truth be told that in the Philippines and most countries, it has become a part of almost every child’s childhood to be able to play the said game at least once.
Thus, many people of the 90s are familiar with Super Mario, Luigi, their quest to save the princesses, the flying turtle, the tunnel that brings Mario or Luigi to another world, etc. There are even parts of the game wherein the characters are underwater and there are challenges to avoid on the way to passing the level.
Now, Super Mario is not just a video game as it hit the film industry. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Super Mario movie, an animated film, is a joint project of the Illumination, Universal, and Nintendo studios.
During its selling of tickets on Easter weekend, the sales hit $146.4 million already. Based on the report, on its first five day, the Super Mario movie reached $204.6 million. Exhibitor Relations even said the film could “easily be the #1 flick in 2023”.
Movie analyst David A. Gross agress that the Super Mario movie can really top records as its “numbers are sensational”. The film gathers people of different ages, both male and female. He stressed the best results of the movie for a first episode animation.
Undeniably, the said Super Mario film may do ignite the longing and the excitement to play the video game once again. It is one of the family games enjoyed in a lot of households in the 90s.
