Guy Gets US Visa Valid for 10 Years Despite ‘Dinog show’ Answers at the Embassy

US visa application of Carl Quion

VALID FOR 10 YEARS – A Filipino guy applying for a US Visa was surprised after being granted with a 10-year validity despite his “casual” answers while being interviewed at the embassy.

To get a visa as a Filipino, you must determine the type of visa you need and complete the online nonimmigrant visa application. You also need to pay a non-refundable visa application fee and schedule an appointment for a visa interview at the US embassy or consulate in Manila.

During the interview, a consular officer will ask you questions about your background, purpose of travel, and ties to the Philippines. The officer will then make a decision on your visa application, which can take several weeks or even months. Meeting all the requirements does not guarantee visa approval.

US visa

But a certain Carl Quion was able to get a US Visa valid for 10 years despite his “casual” and “insincere” responses at the embassy. According to him, his older sister forced him to apply a visa, and he reluctantly agreed. He showed up at the US embassy in the morning, feeling bitter about having to wake up so early. As he waited in line with other applicants, he observed their serious and formal appearance, while he wore a simple polo shirt that exposed his tattoos.

He noticed the disappointment on the faces of many applicants as they left the embassy, most likely due to not being approved. However, he did not care much about the outcome of his application because he did not have any plans to visit the US. He only applied because his sister paid for it, and he wanted to appease her.

When it was Carl Quion’s turn, he nonchalantly answered the questions of the embassy officer, saying that he only planned to travel and visit casinos in the US. He also mentioned that he owned a small business in the Philippines and had a sister living in the US, who kept pressuring him to visit her. Despite his casual responses, the embassy officer approved his visa for 10 years.

Here’s the post:

“Yung pinilit ka lang ng ate mo kumuha ng Us visa,
tapos dinog show mo lang yung mga sagot mo sa Us embassy, naaprubahan pa (emoji)
Ayoko talaga kumuha ng visa kasi naiisip ko may negosyo ako dito ano naman gagawin ko sa Us

Embassy: Hello, Mr. Quion.
Me: Yo, Zup! (I say with my head up)
Embassy: What do you want to do in the US?
Me: Nothing much, just travel, go to Casinos maybe.
Embassy: What do you do here in the Philippines?
Me: Nothing much either, just a small business.
Embassy: Do you have any relatives there?
Me: To tell you the truth, my sister’s there.
She wants me to go on vacation. I don’t really wanna go there. She’s just pestering me to go on vacation.
Embassy: Okay, your US Visa is approved.
Me: (emoji)
