Banakon enters house in Davao

BANAKON or KING COBRA – The highly venomous snake has caused a ruckus after entering a house in Davao City.

The King Cobra, scientifically known as Ophiophagus hannah, is a highly venomous snake that can pose significant risks if it enters a house or comes into close proximity to humans. Some potential dangers of a King Cobra entering a house include its venomous bite, aggressive behavior, panic and fear among residents, property damage, disruption of daily activities, and legal restrictions.

The King Cobra’s long, hollow fangs deliver a potent venom that can cause severe and even fatal envenomation in humans. The venom affects the nervous system, leading to symptoms such as pain, swelling, difficulty breathing, drooping eyelids, and loss of muscle control. Additionally, King Cobras can become aggressive and defensive when they feel threatened or cornered, and may attempt to defend themselves by hissing, spreading their hood, and even striking at perceived threats, including humans. This aggressive behavior can result in bites or other injuries if the snake feels threatened or provoked.
