Rufa Mae Quinto: “I feel na may obligasyon din ako sa showbiz kasi, awa ng Diyos, nami-miss din nila ako.”
RUFA MAE QUINTO – The comedienne recently spoke about her showbiz comeback and also shared about her life in the United States.
Rufa appeared on Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda”.
She said in an interview with Boy Abunda that she considered holding other jobs in the United States, but her husband Trevor Magallanes told her to focus on her career in showbiz.
Rufa has been living in the United States with her husband Trevor and their daughter Athena. She shared that she put up a production company there.
According to her, she plans to do real estate because she wants to know something about real estate if they’re planning to buy a house. However, she said that her husband told her to just focus on showbiz.

She also shared that she feels she also has an obligation to showbiz because “name-miss din nila ako”.
“Tsaka parang feeling ko kailangan din ng ganito, yung parang tanga. Charot,” she said, laughing. “Yun ako, araw-araw. Walang kwenta yung mga sinasabi ko — joke, di ba? Parang ang lungkot kapag di ako nagpapatawa, pag di kayo tumatawa, serious. Alam mo yun? Kaya gusto ko mag-showbiz kasi ang role ko din — comedian din.“
Though the comedienne has yet to formally announce all the details, she’s set to have a tour with the following stops: March 26 in Hawaii; April 1 in Indiana; April 2 in Ohio; and June 17 in Australia. Rufa will also make stops in Virginia in the United States, Canada, and more.
In the same interview, she laughingly admitted that she struggled and got nervous to communicate in English when she’s in the United States. So when someone asked her if she’s an actress in the Philippines, she said she told them to just Google it.
