Ping Lacson Criticized for Comment on Proposed Paid Menstrual Leave

Here’s the comment of Ping Lacson on proposed paid menstrual leave

PING LACSON – The former senator was criticized by netizens online due to his comment on proposed menstrual leave.

Representative Arlene Brosas of the Gabriela Women’s Party-list has introduced House Bill 7758, which proposes to provide women with up to two days of paid leave per month for menstrual pain. If the bill is enacted, the Philippines will join a group of countries including Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Zambia, and most recently, Spain, that also provide paid menstrual leave to their employees.

Apparently, these leaves cannot be accumulated or converted into cash. This implies that women cannot save up their menstrual leaves for future use or exchange them for bonuses.
