Creative staff of Eat Bulaga allegedly receive a “notice to retire” from executives of Tape Inc.
EAT BULAGA – The creative staff of the noontime show allegedly received a “notice to retire” from the executives of TAPE Inc.
Despite initial reports suggesting that the management of the long-standing noontime show had decided to abandon plans to rebrand the program, certain media outlets have continued to report that internal conflicts within the company remain ongoing.
According to a report from Bilyonaryo.com, Romeo Jalosjos Jr., the chairman of Television and Production Exponents (TAPE), is still actively working towards rebranding the show and has purportedly been pressuring the creative staff of Eat Bulaga to retire from their positions.
The report further states that some members of the staff have already received notices regarding their impending retirement. However, they have also been informed that they may return to work in reduced positions and with lowered salaries if they so choose.
Furthermore, there are rumors that some of the affected staff members are considering filing charges against the executives of TAPE for coercing them into retiring after having devoted decades of loyal service to the company.
It should be noted that there have been previous reports suggesting that Jalosjos has been pushing for Tony Tuviera, the founding producer of Eat Bulaga, to retire from his position. However, Tuviera has allegedly garnered support from the show’s current hosts, including Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
In the event that the rumored rebranding of the show does go ahead, there have also been reports that many of its hosts may choose to resign and create their own show to compete with Eat Bulaga.
TAPE is reportedly planning to hold a press conference on April 15th to address and clarify all the issues surrounding the ongoing controversies at Eat Bulaga.
