Man stabs live-in partner to death in Bukidnon
BUKIDNON – A 22-year-old college student died after being stabbed by her live-in partner.
The victim, Kemberly Achas, was only 22 years old and a third-year college student. She was living with her partner, Elson Erap Jamisula, 27 years old and jobless. The incident took place inside Jamisula’s house in Purok 9, Poblacion Sur, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.
According to reports, the couple had a heated argument that turned violent. Jamisula picked up their nine-month-old child and placed her on the sofa before attacking Achas. The baby eventually fell off the sofa, but Jamisula did not seem to care. He continued to physically assault Achas, throwing a chair at her and stabbing her with broken glass.
The victim suffered 16 stab wounds to the neck and was rushed to Don Carlos Doctor’s Hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on arrival. The police are currently investigating the incident using a CCTV footage. Jamisula attempted to flee but was apprehended by authorities. He is currently in police custody, and a drug test will be performed on him. According to police records, Jamisula had previously undergone rehab for illegal drug use.
The baby, who was present during the incident, is said to be in good condition and is now under the care of Achas’ parents. The police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and provide information. The authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind the crime and are gathering evidence to build a strong case against the suspect.
