PRIMARY ID LIST – Here is a list of the valid primary IDs and documents accepted in the Philippines which you can use in transactions.
In making transactions, there is a need to present valid IDs and documents that could prove of identity. These are usually part of the requirements of banks in applying for loans, schools in enrolling for courses, car companies in purchasing vehicles, etc.
With regards to the proof of identity, there are those that are considered “primary IDs” and documents while there are those that are considered “secondary”. Often, primary IDs are released by the government agencies and most institutions require only one (1) primary ID for a legal transaction.
There are several primary IDs and documents that you can choose from. You can check on the primary ID list below to determine which to submit for your transaction or application for something.
Primary ID List
- Philippine Passport issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
- PRC ID issued by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC)
- IBP ID issued by Integrated Bar of the Philippines
- SSS Card issued by the Social Security System
- GSIS eCard issued by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS)
- Voter’s ID issued by the Commission on Elections (Comelec)
- OFW ID issued by the Department of Labor and Employment
- OWWA ID issued by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration
- Senior Citizen ID issued by the Office of the Senior Citizen
- GOCC and Government Office IDs issued by government agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forced of the Philippines (AFP), Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR), and the Department of Education (DepEd).
- Driver’s License issued by the Land Transportation Office (LTO)
- Digitized Postal ID issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation
