Jed Madela responds to basher who told him his absence will not be felt even if he quits
JED MADELA – The iconic singer reacted to a basher criticizing him following his revelation that he considered quitting showbiz.
Jed, whose real name is John Edward Tiña Tajanlangit, is a singer, recording artist, songwriter, TV host, entertainer, and occasional actor. He rose to fame as the first Filipino to win the World Championships of Performing Arts title.
The Iloilo-born singer is also a mainstay of ABS CBN’s Sunday noontime show ASAP, a mentor on Your Face Sounds Familiar and a regular judge on Tawag Ng Tanghalan, a segment of the noontime show It’s Showtime.
In his more than 20 years in show business, Jed Madela revealed in an interview with Toni Gonzaga that he considered quitting. “Parang mas pinapansin na nila yung mas bata, mga bago and so for a while, I considered stopping na lang kasi hindi na ako masaya. Hindi na ako masaya how the industry was treating me,” he said.
Many were saddened by his revelation but according to a netizen, his absence will not be felt even if he quits. “Kahit mag stop ka, di mararamdaman absence mo! Ang daming bagong singers ba nagagaling at fresh pa, down to earth pa,” a netizen said.
Jed Madela exposed the basher. In a post, he said: “Such a mean person…Just woke up and saw this post. Instead of getting upset, I felt sad. I’m trying to understand what happiness or satisfaction this post gives to this person but I can’t seem to piece it together. Oh well…”
His statement earned sympathy from fans and followers. Here are the comments of some netizens:
