Chito Miranda: “Wag ka manghihinayang sa pera na pinaghirapan ng lahat ng tumulong kay Gab”
CHITO MIRANDA – The “Parokya ni Edgar” frontman recently responded to the comments of some netizens over his fundraising efforts for his bandmate Gab Chee Kee.
Gab Chee Kee is the guitarist of the OPM band “Parokya ni Edgar”.
It can be recalled that Chito gave an update about the auction for the band’s original memorabilia – his “Bagsakan” polo and “Halina sa Parokya” puppets Chito Matsing and Mr. Suave.
According to him, the polo was sold for PHP 150,000 and the puppets were sold for PHP 85,000. He added that he also gave the slacks and cap to the bid winner of the “Bagsakan” polo as well.
Chito went on to thank those who joined the fundraising effort.
“Sobrang laking tulong po nito for Gab!!! Sana mahanap namin yung polo ni Sir Kiko. #WalangIwananSaParokyaBand,” Chito said in his Facebook post.

One of the netizens questioned his fundraising efforts in the comments section of his post, saying, “Kunwari tutulong ka tapos kailangan pang ebenta mga bagay na di naman mapapakinabangan pa. Tulong ba tawag dyan?”
Here’s how Chito responded to that netizen:
In a separate comment, a netizen said that it’s “sayang” to pay PHP 8 million for Gab Chee Kee’s medical expenses.
The band vocalist then responded by telling the netizen not to regret the money that everyone who helped Gab Chee Kee worked hard for, adding that it’s “all worth it” and not “sayang”.
“Ang sama kasi nung dating na ‘sayang naman yung 8M’ as if hindi worth yung buhay ng kabanda naming,” Chito said. “Kung sa kalagayan mo ihahambing, dun ka sa page mo mag-post or sa sarili mo nalang kasi it may come as offensive or insensitive sa iba, lalo na sa amin.”
Meanwhile, the band posted a photo on its Facebook page last February 22 wherein Gab can be seen holding a guitar inside the hospital. According to the band, Gab is “out of the ICU” but he’s still “far from 100%.
The band also said that Gab has already transferred to a progressive room in order for him to “continue his recovery from the pneumonia and the complications it brought after”.
