Here’s the opinion of Dr. Richard Mata on issues of Donnalyn Bartolome and Alex Gonzaga
DR. RICHARD MATA – The Davao City-based pediatrician and motivational speaker gave his opinion on the issues of Donnalyn Bartolome and Alex Gonzaga.
Donnalyn, a famous vlogger who has over 16 million followers on Facebook and 9.5 million subscribers on YouTuber, was heavily criticized on social media due to her “back to work” post.
The social media influencer is wondering why many employees are sad when they return to work after the holidays. She exclaimed that they should be happy because there is another chance to improve their lives and the lives of their families.
Because of her statement, she earned backlash from netizens with some calling her “inconsiderate,” “insensitive,” and spreader of “toxic positivity”.
On the other hand, Alex has been making rounds in the past few days due to an incident during her pre-birthday celebration. The 35-year-old actress has come under fire for smearing cake on a waiter’s face. It happened during the vlogger’s birthday-salubong. The vlogger has already apologized to the people affected, especially to the waiter identified as Allan Crisostomo.
Meanwhile, Dr. Richard Mata, a Davao City-based pediatrician and motivational speaker, gave his opinion on the issues they are facing. According to him, huge influencers like Donnalyn and Alex were being targeted by ‘small content creators’ to gain popularity.
“Kapag super dami na talaga followers mo, konteng kibot mo lang, talagang uupakan ka talaga ng other smaller content creators para lang madikit pangalan nila sa iyo, which will influence the netizens na maging OA,” he said. “Maliit na bagay palalakihin. Mga genius at mga self righteous.” he added.
Dr. Richard Mata hoped that the content creators would stop overreacting and riding to the two celebrities’ issues. His comment earned praises from netizens including Kuya Kim Atienza.
