Alex Gonzaga’s camp has spoken up about the viral birthday video.
ALEX GONZAGA – The camp of the actress-vlogger has spoken up about the viral video where she smeared cake icing on the waiter’s face during her birthday celebration.
It started when Dani Barretto posted a video on Instagram Stories where Alex can be seen smearing cake icing on the waiter’s face. Several netizens were able to capture the video and repost it on social media platforms even after Dani’s post on Instagram Stories expired.
Alex Gonzaga’s camp, through her family’s publicist, has spoken up about the said video.
In a statement furnished to TV5’s MJ Marfori, Peter Ledesma said that the waiter in the said video is one of the servers of a catering service that the Gonzaga family regularly taps every time there are family events or occasions.
Ledesma also said that Allan — the waiter in the viral video — is a friend of the family, especially Alex Gonzaga’s mom Pinty.
“Itong si Allan ay laging kabiruan ni Mommy Pinty and Alex at ito ang parating nagse-serve sa kanila,” Ledesma said in a statement. “Kaya tuwing nagkikita ay binabati agad ni Allan ang mag-mommy, magiliw ito sa kanila.”

According to Ledesma, the celebrity vlogger would never do what she did to someone she doesn’t know. He also denied that she was drunk in the said video.
To recall, singer Kris Lawrence said in a comment posted on Inquirer’s Instagram post that Alex was “clearly tipsy and it all comes down to intention”. He also said that the actress was “probably trying to have ‘fun’”.
“So now putting cake on someone’s face at parties is demonized? I thought that was normal. You guys never put cake on anyone’s face on a birthday?” Kris said at that time. “Again not justifying her actions, but geez…stop the bullying. No one is perfect.”
