The Vietnamese fun-dance pop song “See Tinh,” better known in the Philippines as “Ting Ting Tang Tang,” is one of the most popular dance crazes on TikTok right now. It is a favorite dance of Filipinos as well as local celebrities such as Dingdong Dantes, Anne Curtis, and Ogie Alcasid.

But do you know “See Tinh” is the “revenge song” of 34-year-old Vietnamese singer Hoàng Thùy Linh? Her personal and professional life were put to the test when a video of her having s*x with her boyfriend went viral. It was the biggest scandal in Vietnam in 2007.

Thùy Linh was only nineteen (19) years old when the controversy happened. It even caught the attention of international press happened. Many young people sympathized with her but not her parents who urged her to publicly apologize for the scandal.

After giving a public apology, Thùy Linh made a hiatus in the Vietnam’s entertainment industry for three years. She only returned in 2010 to resume her singing career.

Due to Thùy Linh’s singing ability and quality albums, she gradually returned to the showbiz industry of Vietnam and once again accepted by the public. Last March 2018, Thùy Linh released an autobiography titled Vàng Anh & Phuong Hoàng wherein she shared how her career started as well as her past scandal.

In February 2022, “See Tinh,” which is about a lovesick person, was included among the songs written and released by Thùy Linh. Nine months later, her single became phenomenal and popular all over the world becoming a dance craze with over a million views on YouTube and TikTok.
