JC Alcantara – The actor revealed during a solo zoom conference that he experienced selling bread when he was a child.

JC whose real name is John Carlo Parungao Alcantara is an actor and a model. He rose to fame after starring in the 2017 Jollibee ad, Apo.

Over the years, he has played a supporting role in the drama Halik as Bogs, and then his first main role was via the film Hello Stranger (2020) wherein he portrayed the character of Mico Ramo. At the time, he was dubbed “The New Gen Heartthrob”.

Presently, he stars in the Want series “Tara, G!” starring Kaori Oinuma. The series also stars Vivoree Esclito, Daniela Stranner, Zach Castaneda, and CJ Salonga. It will air its finale episode on December 9 via iWant app.

In a zoom conference of the series, JC Alcantara shared that he experienced selling bread along with his siblings when he was a child.

“Mga six years old ako, kasama ko ang kuya ko, nagtinda kami ng tinapay sa Nueva Ecija. Kasi ang thinking ko lang doon before, para sa sarili ko ay makabili ako. Kahit ano lang, makapagbigay ako sa family ko,” he said.

Apparently, poverty hit JC at a young age, so when he was a teenager, he made his own way to earn money by joining pageants at the age of 14. Eventually, he decided to venture into modeling until he slowly built an acting career.
