Freelance coach turned thief
FREELANCE COACH TO THIEF? – A man who claimed to be a “freelance coach” stole the cellphone of a Pastor in Bacolod.
Recently, a certain Rebecca Meñez Caños took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein she shared how a self-proclaimed freelance coach stole the cellphone of their pastor.
According to her, when they asked the “freelance coach” his name, he said his name is Lester and is from Dumaguete. He claimed that he was a freelance coach of football at Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) but told the pastor that he was a volleyball coach.
He also said that he was a Born-Again Christian. He went to IGC Bacolod all by himself because none of the members invited him.
He even went to Sunday school and worship service. After the service, he approached the pastor and spoke with him, giving the impression to the church members that the pastor recognized him.
It so happened that the church was celebrating their thanksgiving, prompting him to join their lunch. The cellphone of pastor was placed on the pastor’s chair, just behind the seat of “Lester.”
After finishing his meal, the freelance coach stood up and walked to the exit door without bidding goodbye to the pastor who was just beside him. Eventually, the pastor noticed that his phone is already missing.
They tried to call the phone, but it was already out of range. Some members attempted to pursue “Lester,” but were unsuccessful. Here’s the FB post:
Rebecca stated at the end of her post that churches must be wary of strangers entering and remain vigilant at all times.
