Allan K: “Soft opening na kami tonight yahoooo!!!”
ALLAN K – The comedian recently took to social media to announce that he’s set to open a new comedy bar, Clowns Republik.
To recall, Allan and businessman Lito Alejandria closed Klownz and Zirkoh in Quezon City at the start of the coronavirus pandemic last 2020. The two cited “tremendous economic, financial loss” as the reason for the closure at that time.
Before announcing the permanent closure of two establishments, Klownz and Zirkoh became popular for their comedy entertainment for nearly two decades.
Among the comedians who performed at Klownz and Zirkohn at that time were Phillip Lazaro, Boobay, Boobsie, and Ate Gay.
Two years since the closure of these two establishments due to the coronavirus pandemic, Allan announced on his Instagram account that he is set to open a new comedy bar.
His new comedy bar, Clowns Republik, will have its soft opening in Quezon City on Friday night, November 18.
“Soft opening na kami tonight yahoooo!!! Hanggang grand opening na ‘tong soft opening namin. Kaya welcome na po kayong tumawa at magenjoy sa clowns brand of entertainment. See you guys tonight,” Allan wrote.
Last year, Allan opened up in an interview on “Reporter’s Notebook” about the struggles he faced leading up to the closure of comedy bars.
He shared that t’s more difficult to close a bar than to open one. However, Allan K held out hope that comedy bars can stand once again when the COVID-19 pandemic was over.
“We’ll find a way. Perhaps we’ll find partners who can shell out some cash,” Allan said at that time.
